Video Podcasting by Andrew Miller

Even with the increased recognition of online terminology, many people are still confused when the word "Podcasting" is mentioned. Their response may be something to the extent of "ummm isn't that like a radio station online or something?" Now, tell them you work in Visual Podcasting and you will see the all too familiar "deer in the headlights look" you get every time you try to explain your online endeavors.
According to a data study by ComScore Video Metrix, 182 million U.S. Internet users watched online video content in December 2011 for an average of 23.2 hours per viewer. Is your business looking to increase brand awareness, get more customers, and move to the next level? Well, I have 182 million potential customers for you.
Podcasting, which originally was meant to be audio based, is now taking the logical next step into streaming video. This levels the playing field and allows even the smallest business to dynamically compete with the "Big Guys."
So, what is the most important thing about Video Podcasting? BE INTERESTING! Within the first 10 seconds of your video 30% of viewers will go to another page (if they are not entertained). At 30 seconds almost 50% have bolted. At 2 minutes almost 85% are gone. Online video watchers suffer from extreme ADD (attention deficit disorder).
One of the best ways to make sure your audience sees your entire video is through time control. Keep your video under the 2 minute mark. Get to your point quickly and grab the attention of your audience. If you do these three things you will be on your way to building a more loyal customer base and attracting new leads.
